A Guide to Preparing for Post-Secondary Education
RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME
Before you leave home it might help to start checking out what kinds of things you can do in your new school or community/city. You might find yourself feeling more excited than nervous when you have good things to look forward to.
You can start checking out your options while at home by looking at the website for your school. Sometimes schools will have intramurals, which is like a league within your school. You can make a team with friends, or join another one individually. It’s a great way to meet new people and stay active.
You can also check out websites for your community/city, the YMCAs or Aboriginal/Native Friendship Centers.
You would be surprised to see all the free programming offered to students and Aboriginal youth!
